Marvel's Spider-Man

So, since this show debuted a couple a weeks ago and no one's started a thread about it, I'm going out on a limb and saying...lukewarm reception?

Because that's kind of how I feel. Sure, the animation is nice, I have no problem with any of the actors (JOSH KEATON IS PLAYING FREAKIN' NORMAN?!), but...yeah, I can't say this has really grabbed me after three episodes.

I can't say why, though. While I think including characters like Miles Morales and...what's her face...who I think is Miss America or something in the comics...I don't know...they're fine additions. But I just don't feel the heart here. Peter hardly feels like an outcast (even Homecoming had more of the alienation). They have some things arcing in between episodes, like Harry Osborne's experiments. And it feels like Pete soliloquies A LOT more than in other incarnations. Like, he has to explain things he's doing because science, to the audience, and it feels kind of tacked on.

The third episode had two teenage friends, one of them being Shocker, turn on each other when only one can get into this new academy (started by Harry's Dad). Their fight takes them into the streets of New York, involves the Jackal (who premiered earlier in the same ep), they officially bring in Gwen Stacy after mentioning her name once before, but the most entertaining thing about the WHOLE episode, was Norman Osborne being the ominous bastard.

I mean, I'm willing to give it another episode or two, which is more than Ultimate got from me. It's not a complete waste of time. But honestly, I'm really not feelin' this show.

Every show takes a bit to get it's footing. One of the reasons i haven't watched it that much is that I have Sling here and the Disney XD channel there hasn't updated it that much.
