I've never had issues streaming Vixen on CW Seed. Hopefully this new DC service will use the same technology.

CW Seed ran like crap on my computer, and none of the other devices in my house had the app at the time, so I just dug around until I found the show from a third party and watched it that way. That and YouTube was how I was watching the majority of my digital content until recently. None of the big streaming apps and services were prolific or reliable enough.

Thankfully, I haven't had any real streaming problems for about a year since I was trying to watch Girls und Panzer on Hulu (waits for the shock to subside that he was watching an anime made in the last 20 years) and it kept trying to insert a commercial every 20 seconds or so. And this was with the paid service that doesn't show commercials, so every 20 seconds was followed with 8 or 9 seconds of black screen. After trying the computer and the TV, I ended up having to watch it on my Nintendo DS :pfft

Been rewatching YJ for the last couple weeks. I never made it through the whole series, but I'm watching it with my wife this time & she's tripping out over all the names & places & things that she knows from the live action DC shows. So it's pretty cool & we're almost done with season 1. I don't know why it ever took me this long to actually check out the whole show, because it's really good. Except for one thing:

Their take on the Joker.

Omg he's bad! How did they get him so wrong?? They were trying to make him funny, but psychotic & scary, with a dash of Ledger's knives in there (unless this came before that movie, in which case- whatever). But maaaaaaan he sucked! At least it was only one episode. Makes me feel bad for Brent Spiner who voiced him.

Oh, & I hate this crime club of "light" that keeps working in the background. Every time it's like, "excellent. The kids destroyed sizable chunks of our resources but it's all part of the plan." Not since Charmed have I been this annoyed by the villains' simmering plot in the background. Thankfully I don't much care what they're up to, because where the show shines is its main cast.

Every episode & villain is really just setup to develop the characters more, & I am ok with that.

Honestly, I can say that having watched all of Season 1? This DOES get explained when the climax happens. I don't think it's 100% according to plan, but it's within the Light's overall "things are still mostly under control". Kind of like Xanatos in Gargoyles where if the coin landed heads or tails, he got something out of it. Not surprising, given it's the same writer/director.

Personally, I didn't mind the Joker in the one episode he was in. The fact that he's not a gigantic part of the overall show is actually kind of refreshing given how hilariously overexposed he is elsewhere. I didn't find him standout in the ensemble, but I don't really take that as a BAD thing overall.

Agreed. I didn't have a problem with it because it wasn't really Joker-centric, he was part of a group made to look super-de-duper threatening just for having him involved. I liked Spiner as a choice of actor, but he didn't really have a lot to work with.

As for using knives...it's certainly possible The Dark Knight had some influence. Just as plausible they wanted him to be more active than just firing a gun, or that they decided he couldn't use firearms for whatever reason.

Or pencils.

According Nolan North, voice of Supers -man and -boy, five episodes have been recorded.

So there's that.

Re: YJ S3 and live-action Titans on DC's own streamimg service

So we have now finished season 2. Some real good stuff in this show. I think my favorite character arc was with M'gahn becoming too violent, just leaving her enemies as vegetables after their encounters. Her whole, "they're the bad guys, so they deserve whatever they get," mentality posed a real issue, caused Conner to dump her, & led to Aqualad getting his brain turned to mush. And then, of course, her realization at what she'd done & her whole quest for redemption. Good stuff.

Also liked the whole bro-fest between Impulse & Blue Beetle & the shakey relationship between Guardian and Rocket. Also loved that Red Arrow did find Speedy without the help of the League. That was a big payoff, like a giant, "I told you so!"

Red Arrow & Cheshire being an item- that came out of nowhere. Don't know when they ever hooked up, prob during the 5 years between seasons, but uh... yeah. He's aware that she's tried to kill him & his friends a few times, right? Whatever. He prob likes the dangerous, off limits ones.

Felt bad for Kid Flash. He didn't get much to do until the end, and then it was goodbye for him. I do wonder if he merely got displaced in time or something instead of just vaporized.

The villains are still the weak link of the show. Yeah, they can spin a good plot & give the good guys something to do. Yeah, their plans are clever & they're competent & dangerous. But they all feel so one-note. I think maybe Black Manta & Black Beetle were better than the rest, but to have the same small batch of villains recur so much, kinda hoped there'd be more to them than just a bunch of mustache twirlers. A whole room of twirlers! So many of the villains seem interchangeable. And what was G.
Gordon Godfrey doing with Vandal Savage at the end?? He was a mole the whole time?!

Final assessment- the characters are where this show really shines. The plot is decent but nothing to get worked up about. The ending should be a warning to writers out there; don't think that setting up a cliffhanger guarantees you another season. Young Justice is just lucky that it's getting a 3rd season now all these years later. But I'll be watching it on day 1, when it comes out.

The video game Young Justice: Legacy has a few collectible extras throughout game play, some of which unlock Red Arrow's journal notes. A few of them mention his relationship with Cheshire (if sparsely).

I think it was confirmed by the creators that he's gone-gone. But it was answering the rumor that maybe he was trapped in the Speed Force, and I think they said that in this reality, that's not a thing.

I think it's long been in the comics that Godfrey was one of Darkseid's lackeys (unlike the JL cartoon where he was just a loudmouth pundit voiced by Veronica Mars' Dad).

I did feel it got really exposition-heavy in more than one episode in Season 2, but I attribute that to them needing ramp up production due to low toy sales and general idiocy from higher-ups.
