Re: Ducktales Reboot coming in 2017 Missed the 24-hour marathon, but just watched it OnDemand earlier tonight.
It...was enjoyable. I wasn't rolling on the floor laughing, but it was fun. Good humor and none of their updates felt forced, tacky, or out of place. A little hard to understand Donald, but...it's Donald (and it looks like he's going to be a main fixture on the show).
And that last moment when one of the triplets sees the entire portrait with Donald and Scrooge...yeah, that's definitely Gravity Falls-esque. Or at least Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated.
All in all, I think it's a good reboot in a time when many reboots fall flat (even if they're of something not that old). I can't say the old Duck Tales is a show I'd watch fervently if it was syndicated now, or that I'd want the whole show on DVD. But this still feels very faithful, and fun for older fans as well as new ones.
Re: Ducktales Reboot coming in 2017 I am so happy to see Donald have a bigger role and not be relegated to a second tier guest character. I also loved his temper tantrum in the waiting area. Thats the classic Donald I love. Hard to portray that in his mostly pre-K show appearances.
I really thought David Tennant did a great job as Scrooge. He's no Alan Young but he has most of Scrooge's mannerisms down to a T so much that he makes a believable Scrooge. His accent also helps.
