....and Netflix will form the head Continuing it's lucrative partnership with Netflix, Dreamworks Animation's Voltron reboot will debut on the streaming service later this year. It's described as a "re-imagining" of the original series, not a sequel like that Nicktoons show that I thought was terrible.
Re: ....and Netflix will form the head I'm pleased that that mess Nick had didn't scare other studios from trying their hand at Voltron. Also happy to hear it will be a re-imagining that way they won't have to build on the garbage that VF and Third Dimension piled on.
Hmm. Do they do merchandise tie-ins for Netflix shows???
Well, there are some Netflix Daredevil figures coming out, but other than that, no. This seems a good opportunity though, if they can find a toy company to partner with.
I think at the moment, Toynami has the Voltron toy license. Or at least they did after Matty's lack luster time with Sub Lion/Figure sets and a canned Voltron Force toy line.
I thought Third Dimension had a great IDEA, but the execution was just awful. But I really did love the whole concept of "Doom was beaten in a war and now they're rebuilding, joining the Unified Planets and what's left of Lothar is their representative" concept. With better writing, that really could have been a great story.
