So, this'll probably influence the toyline a bit...
So, we've all been wondering about the Combiner Wars picks for toys. This is probably the first concrete verification for one of them since Superion and Menasor.
From Windblade's new ongoing, we have a look at Defensor:
My general thoughts are that you could repaint Alpha Bravo into Blades there, and the hands have the "fist guns" that are part of the current combiners. Hot Spot might be a Prime retool similar to Motormaster, but either way, we have 3 Scramble Combiners confirmed. Rumors are as crazy as usual (Leader Ultra Magnus, Titan Devastator), so it's nice to have something concrete.
Now we just get to try to find all the parts for them with Hasbro's distribution.

Re: So, this'll probably influence the toyline a bit...
Well, it was pretty obvious that Alpha Bravo was going to be Blades. (And probably Vortex too.) We've heard that Hot Spot is a new toy and not a Prime redeco. I wouldn't be surprised is Streetwise (or whatever he's called now) is a redeco/retool of one of the Stunticons. I could see Stunticon Offroad reworked into Swindle, with one of the Aerialbots made into Blast Off, leaving the need for only a Brawl and Onslaught.
All these are rather awesome and really cool... But unfortunately, the jacked up prices have now gone beyond what I can comfortably afford now. If it's not Cyberverses or Legend class guys, it's out of my reaches now. :(

Re: So, this'll probably influence the toyline a bit...
Replace Hotsopts ladder with two AA guns and bamb, Onslaught.
But my question is why is Windblade with Defensor? The Protectorbots are all on the lost light at the moment.
Also, I can see a Computron in the future, using Silverbolt, one of the Arielbots, one of the stunticons, what ever Streetwise is and then all you need is the drill tank thing.
But as nice as they sound.... where is my monstructor or will the first Combiner be missing from the Combiner Wars?

Re: So, this'll probably influence the toyline a bit...
I'm pretty sure that all the Combiner Wars guys (save for the rumored Devastator) will be mainly the Scramble City guys. Thus leaving Predaking and Monstructor out in the cold. And Piranhacon and Abominus even less likely, since he's not easily redecoed into new people like the others are.
Seriously though, I'd be 100% content with the upsized Beast Hunters Terrorcons as Abominus.

Re: So, this'll probably influence the toyline a bit...
Just thinking out loud....the thing with the Pretender Monsters is that their beast modes are so nondescript you could probably get away with Predacon remolds that would work just as well.
Razorclaw-->Birdbrain. Birdbrain is a quadruped with a beaked head. Switch out Razorclaw's lion head for a griffin-looking thing.
Divebomb-->Wildfly. Despite his name, Wildfly doesn't look like an insect, but more like a pterosaur, so this one's possible.
Rampage-->Bristleback. Bristleback is another generic quadruped with robotic wings. Change out the tiger head for a more monster-y one and maybe incorporate the wings into his weapons.
That leaves Headstrong and Tantrum for the Preds and Scowl, Icepick and Slog whose beast modes all kinda look like Blot. You can conceivably get Headstrong and Tantrum from the same basic mold the same way they did Springer and Sandstorm. Pick two of the remaining Monsters and use the same mold with a new head, incorporate the sixth member as a Legends scale.
Abominus was just done and I have no answer for Piranacon unless they do all new molds then make remolds/repaints based on Beast Wars characters...
Snaptrap-Snapper
Seawing-Depth Charge
Nautilator-Sea Clamp
Tentakil-Claw Jaw
Overbite-Cybershark
Skalor-?-make Legends class

I could see Hasbro doing Seacons then repainting them into Japenese BW II God Neptune for the BW fans.
Then off set that with a new Magnaboss using possible CW predacon molds (if they get made):
Razorclaw - Lio Jr.
Divebomb - Skywarp
Santon - Tauntrum
Rampage - Tigatron
Headstrong - Rhinox

Re: So, this'll probably influence the toyline a bit...
Latest round of comic solicitations reveals a new Starscream toy.
Looks like the Leader class Thundercracker's going to be getting a repaint. Not a huge shock, really. I am hoping the comics have a little fun with it.
